40 First Dates

Give Love, Spark Change

Join the journey to spread love and support across Metro Vancouver with each charitable act.

In the spirit of Ramadan, a month of reflection, unity, and giving, we're delighted to share with you a small token of friendship and understanding. Inspired by the tradition that emphasizes the rights and significance of neighbors extending to forty homes in all directions, our initiative, "40 First Dates," aims to cultivate bonds of community and understanding, one date at a time.

This package of dates, a traditional staple during Ramadan, symbolizes our hope for a world brimming with neighborly love and intercultural dialogue.

  • Ramadan teaches us the importance of community, kindness, and reaching out to those around us.

  • Through this simple gesture, we wish to extend these values beyond our immediate circle, fostering connections that transcend differences.

  • May this small gift nourish not just the body, but also the bonds between us. Here's to new beginnings, mutual respect, and shared moments of joy.

Our Vision and Mission

Vision
Our vision is to foster interfaith harmony and understanding by sharing the spirit and traditions of Ramadan with our non-Muslim neighbors and friends. Through this gesture of goodwill, we aim to build bridges between communities, emphasizing the universal values of kindness, generosity, and neighborliness.

Mission
Our mission is to distribute dates, accompanied by Ramadan Mubarak and Ramadan Kareem cards, to 40 neighbors to our right, left, north, and south, regardless of their faith. This act of giving, inspired by the teachings of Islam, seeks to enlighten our non-Muslim friends about the significance of Ramadan and encourage a deeper, respectful connection among diverse community members.

About us

Located in the heart of Vancouver, we are an organization deeply committed to nurturing a society marked by mutual respect, understanding, and unity. Our initiative is generously supported by the Foundation for a Path Forward and the vibrant Muslim community of BC, both of whom share our dedication to fostering interfaith harmony.

At the core of our efforts is the vision to foster interfaith harmony and understanding by embracing the spirit and traditions of Ramadan. We believe in reaching out to our non-Muslim neighbors and friends, sharing with them the warmth and generosity that Ramadan embodies. This initiative is not just about sharing; it's about building bridges between communities, emphasizing the universal values of kindness, generosity, and neighborliness that we all hold dear. We envision a world where diverse communities come together, celebrating their differences and finding common ground in the shared values that unite us all.
